Inventions affects our society significantly. It has become an integral part in our life by bringing so much benefits to us. Inventions improves the efficiency in education, medicine, transportation, entertainment and more. When mentioning of how inventions impacts our community, people will think of its positive influence. However, according to Newton’s third law of motion, “For every action, there is an opposite reaction”. Indeed, inventions is beneficial to us, however at the same time it brings negative consequences. Although the rise of new inventions has improved our daily lives by bringing many conveniences, it increases the rate of obesity and the isolation in our society.

New inventions makes people become more isolated. It significantly impacts our social interaction. One might think that social network brings people together. Although many inventions have helped us and made our lives easier they have also caused some problems. With the invention of the car came problems such as air pollution. Cities are becoming more and more congested with people using their cars even for short distances. The government is trying to make this better by making. Cars pass an emission control test. Cars produce a lot of carbon emissions that are ejected into our natural atmosphere, leaving us vulnerable to things like pollution and greenhouse gases. In order to help positively the environment we live in, an electric car is a great step forward. By buying an electric car, you can also receive government subsidies for being environmentally conscious. Although you may end up paying more for your vehicle, the positives greatly overshadow the negatives.

Advantages of an Electric Car.

1-An electric car is a great way for people , as a consumer, to save a lot of money on gas. However, there are so many different reasons why people must invest in an electric car in the modern day of technology.

 2-the Gas isn’t Require: Electric cars are entirely charged by the electricity you provide, meaning you don’t need to buy any gas ever again.

2. Savings: These cars are not expensive and can be fuelled for very cheap prices, and many new cars will offer great incentives for people to get money back from the government for going green. Electric cars can also be a great way to save money.

3. No Emissions: Electric cars are friendly as they run on electrically powered engines. It does not emit toxic gases or smoke in the environment as it runs on clean energy source. They are even better than hybrid cars as hybrids running on gas produce emissions

4. Popularity: EV’s are growing in popularity. With popularity comes all new types of cars being put on the market that are each unique, providing you with a wealth of choices moving forward.

5. Safe to Drive: Electric cars undergo same fitness and testing procedures test as other fuel powered cars. In case an accident occurs, one can expect airbags to open up and electricity supply to cut from the battery. This can prevent the driver and other passengers in the car from serious injuries.

6. Cost Effective: Earlier, owning an electric car would cost a bomb. But with more technological advancements, both cost and maintenance have gone down. The mass production of batteries and available tax incentives have further brought down the cost, thus, making it much more cost-effective.

7. Low Maintenance: Electric cars runs on electrically powered engines and hence there is no need to lubricate the engines. Other expensive engine work is a thing of past. Therefore, the maintenance cost of these cars has come down. You don’t need to send it to service station often as you do a normal gasoline powered car.

8. Reduced Noise  and Pollution: Electric cars put curb on noise pollution as they are much quieter. Electric motors are capable of providing smooth drive with higher acceleration over longer distances.

Robotics is a part of Engineering and Science. It has to do with the creation and building of robots, as well as computer programming. It is interdisciplinary, using mechanical, electrical and other kinds of engineering. Robots are sometimes used to do things that humans cannot, like finding and destroying bombs, or going places that are too hot, small, dangerous or distant for humans. Some robots look like humans, but most just look like machines. In other word we can say it’s a machine that resembles a living creature in being capable of moving independently (as by walking or rolling on wheels) and performing complex actions (such as grasping and moving objects)

 

 

Robotics is the branch of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science engineering that deals with the pattern, construction, operation, and application of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing. robotics or the artificial intelligence are used in manufacturing , in the search , the rescue missions and in the military , They are used in the factories across the world and the people have been increasingly losing their jobs as the robots become more efficient and precise than the humans.

Advantages of robots

The people must know the importance of robots to help them to better determine when to use and when to not use the robots , The robots can go to the  other planets , They can be used to explore the space , They can spy on the people in ways the people can’t move and from views the humans can’t reach .

1-The robots can go far down into the unknown places where the humans would be crushed , They can give us the information that the humans can’t get , They can work at places without any salary and food , Plus they don’t get bored .

2-The robots can perform the tasks faster than the humans and much more consistently and accurately, they become more common each and every day, the robotic pets can help the patients with depression and they keep them active.

3-Most of robots are automatic so, they can move without any human interference, they can entertain us and they can help us in certain tasks, we can send them to dangerous environment such as the deep sea or the war-zones.

4-We can use the robots to produce the products in the factories such as assembling the cars, they can also be used to build the parts for many products such as the plane parts, the car parts and the construction supplies.

5-The robots do anything which we need to be precise, accurate, new jobs are created because the people have to fix and design the robots, the robots can work without sleep.

6-The robots can endure the hostile environment of the interplanetary space, they are made that the planetary atmospheres do not affect their physical state and performance, they can replace the human beings in many areas of work, they can shoulder greater responsibilities and they can be programmed to manage themselves.

7-The robots can be programmed to reach the Earth’s nadirs , They can be used to dig for the fuels , They can be used for mining purposes , They can be harnessed for exploring the depths of oceans , They can be used to overcome the limitations that humans have .

8-The robots can be used in carrying out the repetitive & time-consuming tasks efficiently, they are used to do dangerous tasks, they can adjust their parameters like their speed & time, and they can act quickly, unaffected by the factors that affect the humans.

9-The robots do not require to sleep or take breaks , They are able to function without stopping , When employed to carry out dangerous tasks , the risk to the human health & safety is reduced , They can work long time without service or maintenance and they can be more productive than the people .

10-The robots cannot tremble or shake as the human hands do, they can have much smaller & versatile moving parts than the people, and they have performed the medical surgeries because they can be faster and more precise than the people.

11-The robots are designed to work in the harsh environments like in the space, without the air, underwater & in the fire, they can be used instead of the people when the human safety is a concern, they can come in any size, whatever size needed for any task can be created.

12-The robots can do the jobs that the people are unwilling to do, many robotic probes have been sent throughout the solar system to never return back to Earth, They can be stronger than the people, and the robots in the warfare eliminate putting more people at risk.

Disadvantages of robots

1-The robots needs a supply of power , The people can lose jobs in the factories , They need the maintenance to keep them running , It costs a lot of money to make or buy the robots , The software and the equipment that you need to use with the robot cost much money .

2-The robots can take the place of many humans in the factories , So , the people have to find new jobs or be retrained , They can take the place of the humans in several situations , If the robots begin to replace the humans in every field ,  They will lead to unemployment .

3-The robots cost much money in the maintenance & repair , The programs need to be updated to suit the changing requirements , the machines need to be made smarter , In case of the breakdown , the cost of repair may be very high ,  The procedures to restore lost code or data may be time-consuming & costly .

4-The robots can store large amounts of data but the storage, access, retrieval is not as effective as the human brain, they can perform the repetitive tasks for long but they do not get better with experience such as the humans do.

5-The robots are not able to act any different from what they are programmed to do , With the heavy application of robots , the humans may become overly dependent on the machines , losing their mental capacities , If the control of robots goes in the wrong hands , The robots may cause the destruction .

6-The robots are not intelligent or sentient , They can never improve the results of their jobs outside of their predefined programming , They do not think , They do not have emotions or conscience , This limits how the robots can help & interact with people.

How they work?

Various self-driving technologies have been developed by Google, Uber, Tesla, Nissan, and other major automakers, researchers, and technology companies. While design details vary, most self-driving systems create and maintain an internal map of their surroundings, based on a wide array of sensors, like radar. Uber’s self-driving prototypes use sixty-four laser beams, along with other sensors, to construct their internal map; Google’s prototypes have, at various stages, used lasers, radar, high-powered cameras, and sonar.

 

 

 

 

 

Impacts              

The costs and benefits of self-driving cars are still largely hypothetical. More information is needed to fully assess how they’ll impact drivers, the economy, equity, and environmental and public health.

1-Safety is an overarching concern. Many thousands of people die in motor vehicle crashes every year in the United States  self-driving vehicles could, hypothetically, reduce that number—software could be prove to be less error-prone than humans—but cyber security is still a chief concern.

2-Equity is another major consideration. Self-driving technology could help mobilize individuals who are unable to drive themselves, such as the elderly or disabled. But the widespread adoption of autonomous vehicles could also displace millions of Americans employed as drivers, negatively impact public transportation funding, and perpetuate the current transportation system’s injustices.

3-Environmental impacts are a serious concern, and a major uncertainty. Accessible, affordable, and convenient self-driving cars could increase the total number of miles driven each year. If those vehicles are powered by gasoline, then transportation-related climate emissions could skyrocket. Hyper loop

Hyper loop is essentially a train system that Musk calls “a cross between a Concorde, a railgun, and an air hockey table”. It’s based on the very high-speed transit (VHST) system proposed in 1972, which combines a magnetic levitation train and a low pressure transit tube. It evolves some of the original ideas of VHST, but it still uses tunnels and pods or capsules to move from place to place.

Musk has likened it to a vacuum tube system in a building used to move documents from place to place.

What speeds have been proposed?

Hyper loop is being proposed as an alternative to short distance air travel, where the system will be much faster than existing rail networks and much cleaner that flight. Hyper loop isn’t about going as fast as possible, because you’ll have to deal with high G forces when it came to turns, which isn’t ideal for passenger travel. Speeds of over 700mph are suggested for journeys.

There are some merits and demerits to each upgrade. This article discusses the benefits of new inventions and innovations of the latest technology. Finally, as most technological discoveries aim to reduce human effort, it would imply that more work is done by machines. This equates to less work for people: the human is becoming ever so obsolete by the day, as processes become automated and jobs are made redundant.
